Two of these photo's ran front page. The policeman searching through the purse for the identity of the woman in the demolished car is one. The woman, who was killed instantly, is actually still in the car at the time of these photos.

The fire line photo was the main shot on the cover. I would have chosen the interior damage photo, but it may not have reproduced well.

The politicians are the mayor of Lantzville, Colin Haime and the BC's Environment Minister Ida Chong. They are opening a new sewage pump to service houses by the ocean.

April 18: Daily News, Day 5






Not really any huge action taking place in Nanaimo today. Started the day off with a mock accident, followed by the official opening of their Olympic Live Site and finished with an art show.
