Nov. 11: Remembrance Day- Ottawa

At 11am Sunday morning, tens of thousands of people gathered around the War memorial on Elgin Street in Ottawa to remember the soldiers who fight/fought for the safety of our nation. Temperatures were warm, sky's were blue and supporters were many. Our Prime Minister Stephen Harper believes this is one of the biggest turnouts the nation's capital has ever seen.

Nov 9: COSSA Football Championship- Centennial vs. Crestwood

The 2007 high school football season came down to this senior championship game on Friday at Centennial Secondary School in Belleville. The Centennial Chargers hosted the Crestwood Mustangs of Peterborough and got a little more than they could handle. Crestwood opened up a 14 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Chargers had a few costly turnovers and could never get much of a rhythm. The Crestwood Mustangs won the game 38-15. For many of the players, this will be their last game at the high school level; some will continue to play at University, while others will be hanging up their cleats for the last time.

Nov. 3: Queens vs Carleton Water Polo

The Queens Golden Gaels ladies was a battle to the finish. After Gael Holly Tawse tied the game at eight with just two minutes, Carleton Raven Rachel Baxter scored the game winner for a 9-8 Raven victory. The Gaels men did not fair as well, losing 26-5 to the Carleton Ravens..ouch!

Oct 30- Yardmen Arena- Belleville Bulls

The last week of October marked 'Special Project' project week for first and second year students at Loyalist College. The challenge was essence of place, to take the viewer somewhere they they have not gone before. I chose the Yardmen Arena, home of the Belleville Bulls, a Junior A hockey team, and first class organization. The 2007 East Division Champs have got off to a great start in a tough division this season with 22 points, currently first in the East.
